If you are OK with the drive (1.5 hours from Vienna), this is one of the best small zoos I have seen in the province. The kids loved the deers, boars, ducks, swans, rabbits, etc. Pony rides. A relatively easy hike with beautiful views. The rooms are classic, comfortable and beautiful. We were there for a birthday party, and the food was top notch as well. Rooms were around $90/night.
A wonderful traditional place especially a get away for families with children, surrounded by green, animals & lots farms around. We had 2 beautiful peaceful nights with my husband. Its very quiet, rooms are big. A perfect place away from the city.

It was wonderful. Such a great place to get calm and relax. I spent my time with my daughter (4) and despite the rain for four days, it was such a fine time. She could play outside (with the right clothes) and enjoyed the playground and die animals. The family is friendly and there are a lot of things to do, like ride a pony od ride with the „Traktor“. I will definitely come back!
We spent a really nice weekend at Die Hochrieß. The kids loved the big playground and the wild animal park/petting zoo. Very nice and caring owner family who is very concerned about the welfare of their guests.

the bad: terrible service, extremely unfriendly staff, we didnt feel welcome at all.
Underwhelming. This place looks like it had its best days 20 years ago. Mediocre food, lodging, playground and park - the lack of hospitality and high prices make worse. Don't go there if you don't have to.
Family-run business with hotel and farm life activity. Wonderful Austrians farm environment. The family's own kitchen and their guest friendliness are No 1!
